Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse
to do at Home
This Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse is on top of my home remedies list and I used it often. You can read about it in both Andreas Moritz's fantastic book "The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse" and Dr Hulda Clark’s book “The Cure for All Cancers”.
It requires 6 days of preparation before the actual cleanse which is between 16 to 20 hours from start to finish.
I’ve completed this protocol a number of times and always feel energised afterwards!
I do suggest you read either book and both are good to include in your library.
You will need the following ingredients for this liver and gallbladder home remedy, I always use organic for all my cleanses where possible or the purest I can source.
Note: If you are allergic to Epsom Salts, Magnesium Citrate may be used at the same dosage.
The week before the liver and gallbladder cleanse AVOID cold foods or beverages, they tend to chill the liver and may reduce the cleanse results, warm or room temperature is best.
Also best to avoid meat, dairy and fried foods and don’t over eat.
Drink 1 litre of apple juice per day for six days.
Apple juice has a strong cleansing effect and the Malic Acid in it helps to soften gallstones making their passage through the bile ducts easy.
In the morning of the sixth apple juice day, drink all of the 1 litre of apple juice.
On the day of your liver and gallbladder cleanse it is most important to avoid any protein foods, dairy, oils, fats etc, otherwise you may feel sick when doing the actual cleanse.
The idea is to shut down the bile production, you’ll kick start this later in the cleanse.
Add 4 tablespoons of Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) to 750ml of purified water.
Hint: Chilling this mixture helps with the taste.
At 6:00pm drink ¾ cup of the Epsom salts water mixture.
Yes it’s not the best tasting, but it’s going to be effective at widening the bile ducts and making it easier for the stones to pass.
Holding your nose helps and drinking it through a straw eases the bitterness. If you can’t get it down, add the smallest amount of lemon juice to mask the taste. Rinsing or brushing your teeth with sodium bicarbonate also helps.
Take out the citrus fruits you are going to use so they warm to room temperature.
8:00pm Drink the second ¾ glass of Epsom salts.
9:30pm If you have not moved your bowels or not done a colon cleanse within the past 24 hours you need to take a water enema to get things moving.
9:45pm Wash your citrus fruits and squeeze them by hand removing the pulp, you will need ¾ glass of juice. I like to strain mine through a fine mesh colander. In the 500ml bottle add the fruit juice and ½ a glass of olive oil, put on the lid and shake until the mix is watery. You need to drink this mixture at 10:00pm, however, if you are still going to the bathroom this can be delayed but try no more than 10 minutes.
10:00pm This is important. STAND NEXT TO YOUR BED and drink the juice/oil mix without stopping (if possible). Bottoms Up!! Call me ‘nuts’ but I actually like this mixture! Again if you’re not like me, drink it through a straw or hold your nose or you can add a little honey.
LIE DOWN IMMEDIATELY & LIE STILL FOR 20 MINS with your head higher than your feet. This position is essential to release the gallstones. If you cannot hold this position then lie on your right side in the foetal position, knees to chin. Pay attention to your liver, you may feel like marbles or gravel is travelling through your abdomen. There will be no pain as the magnesium in the Epsom salts keeps the bile ducts open wide.
Try to go to sleep, however if you have the urge to go to the bathroom, then go. If you feel sick this may be due to either a sudden movement of stones or toxins, it will pass during the morning.
The next day 6:00- 6:30am and not before this time. Drink your third ¾ glass of Epsom salts. Do something restful like reading, meditation or yoga or you can go back to bed, best to keep in an upright position so prop yourself up on some pillows. Keep near the bathroom as you will have the urge to go (lots).
8:00 to 8:30am Drink the last of your ¾ glass of Epsom salts.
10:00 to 10:30am You can drink a little freshly squeezed juice. ½ hour later try some fruit. Then some regular light food in another hour and then continue on a light diet for the next few days.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
Note: Best to schedule the liver and gallbladder cleanse so that the main part is done over the weekend and you are able to rest.
It is also best to cleanse on the day of a new moon, the body tends to hold more fluids during the full moon. Unless absolutely necessary I also avoid any vitamins and supplements during the preparation and cleanse.
What to Expect
During the morning you can expect to be running to the bathroom quite a bit, the Epsom salt mixture helps eliminate anything in the intestines and bowel.
You can expect to see gallstones and food residue to start and then just stones and water.
The green stones float because they contain bile compounds and can be many different shades. The green colour comes from the bile only made in the liver.
On the other hand gallstones come in many shapes, colours and sizes. Lightest are newest, darkest are oldest. Calcified stones sink to the bottom with the stool.
A white or tan coloured chaff or foam contains cholesterol crystals, they are also important to release as they may easily rupture small bile ducts.
How Often Can I Do This?
The liver and gallbladder cleanse is safe to do every month and you may require up to 12 if you are suffering from bursitis, back pain, allergies or other health problems.
You need to remove all stones, the ones that have just been eliminated have cleared the front of the liver and any stones from the back will now travel forward. You will need to do two consecutive clear cleanses, producing no stones, to know that you are clean.
A word of caution: NEVER cleanse when you are suffering an acute illness, even if it just a cold.
